- Clear labeling of QR code purpose and destination is recommended
- QR codes should be accessible and functional for their intended audience
QR Code Placement and Usage

Analytics and Tracking
- Use of QRTRAC analytics features must comply with privacy laws
- User consent must be obtained for data collection where required
- Analytics data should not be used for unauthorized surveillance
- Respect user privacy and data protection rights
6. Custom Domain Usage Policy
This section governs the use of custom domain features available in certain QRTRAC subscription plans. Custom domains allow you to use your own domain name for QR code URLs instead of the platform's default domain.
Permitted Custom Domain Use
1. Authorized Use
- Users with plans that include the custom domain feature (e.g., Business Plus and higher) may configure and use custom domains solely for their own legal business or organizational entity.
- These domains must be legally owned, registered, and controlled by the account holder or organization subscribing to the service.
- Purpose: To enable branded QR codes showing URLs under your own domain instead of the platform's domain.
2. Business Ownership Requirement
- The domain used must be tied to the user's own business, organization, or legally registered entity.
- Providing a custom domain must reflect legitimate ownership and control — not an unrelated third party's domain.
Prohibited Custom Domain Practices
1. No Third-Party Domain Reselling
- You may not attach custom domains that belong to another business, third party, affiliate, reseller client, or unrelated entity to your account unless that entity is legally the purchaser and plan subscriber.
- Using domains owned by other parties — for the purpose of reselling, white-labeling, or multi-client management outside your own organization — is strictly prohibited under Business Plus (and similar) plans and may require a dedicated Agency or Enterprise plan.
2. No Renting or Sharing of Domains
- Custom domains must not be rented, loaned, shared, or delegated to third parties with the intent of monetizing or reselling QRTRAC services under another brand.
Plan Eligibility & Clarifications
1. Plan-Linked Feature
- The custom domain feature is part of specific subscription tiers (e.g., Business Plus and above). Use of custom domains is permitted only within the limits set by your current plan.
- The number of domains allowed depends on the plan.
2. Agency & Enterprise Options
- For users who need to manage custom domains on behalf of multiple client businesses, or for third-party services, you must upgrade to a plan explicitly designed for multi-client / white-label usage (such as Agency or Enterprise plans), where such usage is permitted under supported terms.
Enforcement & Consequences
1. Violation of Policy
Any attempt to attach, manage, or use a custom domain that violates this policy may result in:
- Suspension of the custom domain feature
- Temporary account restrictions or plan downgrade
- Termination of service for repeated or serious violations
2. Remediation
If you are found using a domain in violation of this policy, you will be notified and may be required to:
- Remove the domain immediately
- Upgrade to a plan that supports white-label or multi-client domain usage
- Provide documentation proving business ownership of the domain
Examples (For Clarity)
- ✅ Allowed: If Company A subscribes to Business Plus and uses brandA.com for QR codes → Allowed
- ❌ Prohibited: If Company A uses brandB.com (owned by another business client) to serve multiple clients → Prohibited under Business Plus (requires proper plan)
7. API Usage Policy
This section governs the use of QRTRAC's Application Programming Interface (API) and API-related services. The API is designed to enable legitimate business integration and automation of QR code management within your own business operations.
Permitted API Use
1. Business Customer Use
- The QRTRAC API is intended for use by business customers to integrate QR code functionality into their own applications, systems, or workflows.
- API access is provided to enable automation and integration of QR code generation, management, and analytics within your own business operations.
- You may use the API to create, update, manage, and track QR codes for your own business purposes.
2. Authorized Reseller Use
- Resellers must request and obtain explicit written permission from QRTRAC before using the API for reselling or white-label purposes.
- Resellers must enter into a separate reseller agreement or custom plan that explicitly authorizes API usage for reselling activities.
- Unauthorized reselling or white-labeling using the API is strictly prohibited.
Prohibited API Practices
1. Platform Replication Prohibited
- You may not use the API to replicate, rebuild, or recreate the QRTRAC platform or any substantial portion of its functionality.
- Using the API to create a competing QR code management platform or service is strictly prohibited.
- Any attempt to reverse engineer, replicate, or compete with QRTRAC's core platform functionality through API usage is a violation of this policy.
2. Unauthorized Reselling Prohibited
- Using the API to resell QRTRAC services, create white-label solutions, or serve multiple clients without explicit authorization is prohibited.
- You may not use the API to build applications or services that resell QR code generation or management capabilities to third parties without a custom reseller plan.
- Multi-tenant applications or platforms that provide QR code services to other businesses require explicit authorization and a custom plan.
Rate Limits & Fair Usage
1. Rate Limits
- QRTRAC implements rate limits on API usage to ensure fair access and system stability for all users.
- Rate limits are subject to change at QRTRAC's discretion and may vary based on your subscription plan.
- QRTRAC reserves the right to determine fair usage of APIs and may adjust rate limits based on usage patterns, system capacity, and business needs.
- Excessive API usage that impacts system performance or violates fair usage principles may result in rate limit adjustments or account restrictions.
2. Analytics API Limits
- Data Range Limit: Analytics data requests via API are limited to a maximum of 1 month of data per API call.
- Call Frequency: Analytics API calls are limited to a maximum of 1 analytics call per team per request cycle.
- Attempting to bypass these limits through multiple requests, automated scripts, or other means is prohibited.
- For historical data beyond 1 month, you must make separate API calls for each month period.
Enforcement & Access Revocation
1. Fair Usage Violations
- QRTRAC reserves the right to monitor API usage patterns and determine violations of fair usage policies.
- Violations include but are not limited to: excessive API calls, attempts to replicate platform functionality, unauthorized reselling, or abuse of rate limits.
2. Access Revocation
- QRTRAC reserves the right to revoke API access immediately if found in violation of this API Usage Policy or fair usage guidelines.
- Access may be revoked for: platform replication attempts, unauthorized reselling, rate limit abuse, or any other violation of this policy.
- Revocation may be temporary or permanent, depending on the severity and nature of the violation.
- Users will be notified of access revocation and the reason for such action.
3. Remediation
- If API access is revoked, you may be required to: cease prohibited activities, upgrade to an appropriate plan, or enter into a custom agreement.
- Reinstatement of API access is at QRTRAC's sole discretion and may require documentation of compliance.
